This weekend was the annual fall knife show in Janesville Wi. The best part is always seeing the other knifemakers that I have gotten to know through the years along with some great customers. Having a table next to Ken Coates also provides some laughs and always some valuable instruction. Ken is a premier maker of slipjoint folders with a wealth of good stories. Friday the show was a bit slow with not a lot of customers but I did sell 4 knives. Saturday picked up around 9am (being a cold wet day always helps) and 6 other knives found excellent homes. I picked up some some very nice stabilized blocks that should show up on knives in the next year. These shows always inspire me to try some new styles, materials and techniques and I think it is time to do some hidden tang knives. I have some nice sized oosik (look that up on the internet if you aren't familiar as the biology lessons are shut down for the night) that will look good on the handle. I don't think I will be able to do any other shows before my ankle replacement on Nov 18 but I hope to complete some preparing for the usual Christmas demand. Thanks to all who stopped at my table.
